Dear Rima Haimov,

When I read your words the only thing I can say is that I feel sorry for your son, and that I can understand you as a mother and the traumatic events that your child is experiencing. I cannot deny the fact that life becomes very difficult in such circumstances when you realize that you and your family are in danger at any moment; I fully understand your worries, your feelings and concerns. I am addressing this letter to you with the hope that you will understand my pain too.

Like I feel sorry for your son, I feel sorry for my Palestinian children who are born and will die in Gaza, unable to have the chance of seeing other worlds, and who have to face F-16s, Apache helicopters and the Israeli army"s brutal invasions into Gaza. However, my children are not fortunate enough to have the excellent medical care that your son has. My children do not have the chance to run to a shelter and there is no alarm to tell them that there is a strike coming. My children cannot be guaranteed the love and care that your son found because all of their family might be killed in one strike, they might witness the death of their parents, or any of their dear family members as the Palestinians are targeted everywhere, even in their homes and among their children.

My children cannot find the counseling that your child will have to help him deal with his appalling experience. They have to keep their pain inside them, and recall it day after day. Even in their dreams they suffer from remembering the things they have witnessed.

My children are not children anymore; they lost their innocence and are forced to act like adults so they can protect themselves. They no longer cry to their parents because they realize that even adults are scared and also need comfort and security. Instead they swallow their pain and deal with it on their own.

When your child is sick or injured he has the chance to go to the best hospitals to receive treatment while my children have to live with their pain and injuries because they cannot go to a good hospital like you have in Israel. In Gaza, they can only wait for the pain to pass or count the days waiting for the end. They have learned how to face death fearlessly, because they hope to find justice and a better life in heaven.

While your child enjoys his new schoolbooks, my children have to use old, disreputable books because the borders are closed and even schoolbooks cannot be brought in.

My children have to face the extreme temperatures because of the electricity cuts. They cannot enjoy sitting in front of the electric heater in winter or the fan in summer. While you as a mother can plan for your child"s future, I cannot because my child is locked in a prison called Gaza, and he cannot dream of having the chance to receive a better education and work outside of Gaza.

While you as a mother can give your child all the promises of a better life, I can not give my child these guarantees, simply because we are both eligible to die in any moment by an Israeli strike, without any plans, dreams, nothing.

After all of this do you think that my children deserve their pain only because they are born to Palestinian parents? Do you think it is fair that they are treated in this way? Is it fair to be subjected to the sanctions that your government has imposed on us? I hope you can understand my pain too.

B’Tselem: Israel demolished 667 Palestinian homes as mass punishment

B"Tselem, the Israeli information center for human rights in the occupied Palestinian lands, stated that the IOA had demolished as a mass punishment 667 Palestinian homes, since October 2001 until the end of January 2005, in the West Bank rendering more than 4,200 Palestinians homeless.

B"Tselem pointed out that half of these demolished houses were next door to the house of the person(s) who had been suspected or wanted by the Israeli occupation.

An ad hoc committee formed by Israeli general Moshe Ya"alon had recommended that demolition of houses of suspects in carrying out operations against Israel should be stopped because it is not an effective deterrence.

In this regard, B"Tselem called for preventing the demolition of the house of Alaa Abu Dehim who carried out the Jerusalem attack.

Hebrew media outlets said that the Israeli internal security minister had issued orders to the police to work on the demolition of the house of Abu Dehim"s family, adding that war minister Ehud Barak supported the demolition decision.

In contrast, Barak approved a decision to resume the construction of about 132 settlement units in the northern West Bank and near occupied Jerusalem as part of a series of resolutions to promote settlement activities.

The Israeli Jerusalem Post newspaper reported that the war ministry kept its promises to Israeli settlers in the Ari"il settlement, one of the biggest settlements in the northern West Bank, and allowed the resumption of building 48 new units the construction of which was frozen last November.

The spokesman for the war ministry had confirmed to the newspaper that the freeze decision to establish 48 settlement units would be ended and the construction would resume.

The Israeli government also endorsed the building of 52 settlement units in the Ma"aleh Adumim settlement in occupied Jerusalem and 32 units in the settlements of Betar Illit, Sha"are Tikvah and Kana.

For their part, Chiefs of Israeli settlements underlined that these projects are small if compared with the real needs of settlement units!

The Muslim Brotherhood"s (MB) parliamentary bloc condemned the hideous massacre committed by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in Gaza killing total of 32 including young children since Wednesday evening.

It confirmed in a statement signed by Dr. Mohamed Saad Al Katatni, the chairman of the MB parliamentary bloc in the People"s Assembly, that this massacre is an extension of the IOF"s policy of genocide against the Palestinians through maintaining the blockade and the policy of starvation and stopping water and electricity supplies to Gaza strip residents.

It stressed that this massacre is a message that the IOF want to send to Arab countries ahead of the next Arab summit scheduled to be held in Damascus , pointing out that it requires a serious Arab and Islamic attitude to stop these repeated violations and hold perpetrators accountable because they are war criminals.

The MB bloc called on Arab and Islamic regimes and peoples to take a serious attitude against these massacres and to work for ending the blockade imposed on Gaza Strip. It also called on Arab and international parliaments to exercise pressure on their governments to take serious attitudes towards what is currently committed in Gaza Strip and not to restrict reactions to ere condemnation and rejection to this massacre.

The bloc demanded the Egyptian People"s Assembly hold an emergency session early next week to study ways of backing the Palestinian people and stopping the IOF violations.

A Statement from the MB Parliamentary Bloc

1. Ummat ISlam sedunia diseru mengutuk perbuatan Israel ini dan berdoa agar sdr kita di sana teguh pendirian untuk terus melawan kezaliman Israel.

4. Anak-anak terbiar ini..jika diberi pelajaran dan kesihatan yang cukup akan menjadi tenaga baru untuk meneruskan perjuangan mereka..

Tapi kenapa ianya tidak dilakukan...sebab negara OIC,,tak ada gigi...tak peduli dan tak terfikir..bagaimana untuk membantu mereka..?? Jika sedikit seorang berusaha dan bekerja untuk membantu mereka,,maka selesailah masalah ummat ini..Israel juga takut jika ada sistem ummat ini yg mampu menjaga nasib sdr kita ini. Pelikkan..ya realitinya..kebanyakan raja-raja, pemerintah dan penguasa di negara ummat ISlam tidak ada hati perut dan buta mata hati..akibat nafsu syahwat mereka..mereka sanggup mengahbiskan wang negara untuk kepentingan perut dan alat bawah perut sahaja..Nak fikir apa lagi??

A few kilometers from where the Israeli army attacked Gaza"s coast, a coalition of 27 women"s organizations held a festival marking International Women"s Day. Organized by the Women"s Affairs Center based in Gaza City, the event titled, "Gaza women defy the Israeli siege," was held at the Beach Hotel along the coast.

The hall overlooking Gaza"s shore is crowded with dozens of attendees and a number of booths selling various products. One woman sells traditional folk dresses, while another delivers homemade Palestinian foods, and another stand offers homemade accessories and household items.

Reem Elneerab, organizer of the exhibition says that today"s festival is "exceptional as it comes during a crippling siege," enforced by Israel since June 2007. "The exhibition is sending out a message of steadfastness by Gaza women that despite the Israeli closure and measures, the Palestinian women can emerge with more creativity and ability to sustain," she explains.

Donya Al-Amal Ismail, a local journalist and a participant in the fair, believes that such an exhibition "helps women express their talents and creativity in a way that exposes an important aspect of Palestinian society in Gaza, despite the ongoing suffering of the population." She adds that the exhibition faced a number of problems this year including "the lack of raw materials and people"s inability to make purchases at these difficult times."

Ismail"s sentiments are echoed by the Zakher Women"s Society for Craftwork and Textiles, which has a stand in the exhibition. Reem Al-Haddad, a customer service representative, says that she has been displaying her products since the early hours of the morning, yet visitors come to look without buying.

She smiles and explains that "when I look at the eyes of my customers I can understand they want to buy, but they can not afford to buy. The situation has affected their ability to purchase."

After Hamas took over Gaza last June, Israel imposed a harsh economic blockade on the coastal region. According to UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestine Refugees, more than 80 percent of Gaza"s 1.5 million residents depend entirely on food assistance that the organization provides.

As Ms. Al-Haddad observed, many Palestinians want to participate in events like the Women"s Day festival and purchase the crafts on display, however, they are unable to afford these items. Because of the siege even purchasing basic items like bread has become difficult.

Now Gaza"s local industries have been forced to shut down due to lack of raw materials and Israel"s closure of border crossings, leaving more than 70,000 local laborers jobless. Near the women"s exhibition of homemade craftwork and foods, the local chapter of the Committee for Breaking the Siege held a symbolic funeral procession for Gaza"s local factories. The procession drew hundreds of men who marched through Gaza City"s Kateeba district.

This is the situation in Gaza today: in the midst of the ongoing Israeli siege and attacks, Palestinians in Gaza feel a mixture of frustration and determination to continue with their lives.

MB Female Activists Condemn Killings Of Palestinian Women IkhwanWeb - Cairo, Egypt Thursday, November 9, 2006 In an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, Muslim Brotherhood female activist and Media Professor, Dr. Manal Abul Hassan commented on the massacres against the Palestinian women at Bait Hanun in Gaza by saying that the international establishments are losing credibility by keeping pathetic silence while Palestinian women are coming under constant Israeli shelling and bombardments. The MB professor expressed anger over the position of the international organizations which keep on calling for protecting women against persecution at the hands of husbands while ignoring the tragic state of affairs where Palestinian women are not only coming under threats of beatings but expulsions and even killings at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces. She also accused the international organizations of adopting a double standard policy, decrying any threats against women in general while keeping silent when it comes to the Palestinian women and their right to full freedom; she called on all world civil societies to play a more significant role in backing and supporting of the rights of Palestinian women. On the role of the Muslim women in backing their Palestinian sisters, Dr. Manal pointed out that there is a recognized role played by Muslim women in backing the Palestinian people in their ordeal, citing fund raisings and material aid collected by individuals or societies. She praised the Egyptian people’s position toward the Palestinians, recalling the campaigns launched by invariably all brackets in the Egyptian society for fund raising and various aspects of assistance. She called on the Parliament to adopt a course of action toward the Israeli massacres, appealing to the Parliament not to settle for condemnation statements. Rather, she urged it do something for saving the thousands of the Palestinian people coming under the occupation and sufferings.

In his weekly message, the Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mr. Mohamed Mahdi Akef, explained how the Muslim Ummah is sufferring from the late American aggression targeting its identity and threatening its spiritual and scientific fortunes. It wants to destroy our present and to confiscate our future in order to control the Ummah.

As for Palestine, he clarified that the West and America are supporting, and even adopting, the Zionist project frankly and they are keeping silent on the Zionist aggression for fifty eight years. In the same time they are punishing the Palestinian people when showing any resistance against that aggression calling it terrorism that must be confronted.

He added that the Palestinian resistance is achieving success every day, not only on the level of armed struggle, but also on the level of completing the real elements of the society and state, and on the level of spreading the awareness of the danger and ugliness of the Zionist project. The Palestinian people chose Hamas in free and fair elections to rule their country after long time of corruption. As a result, the occupation and its European and American protectors threatened the new government in order to meet the Zionist demands by recognizing the Zionist entity, adopting the forced agreements, destroying the infrastructure of the resistance groups and unconditioned negotiating with the occupier; else the Palestinians and their government would face economic sanctions and unjust siege. Moreover, we knew that U.S., which froze its aid to the Palestinians, allocated 42 million dollars to destroy the new Palestinian government and to urge the Palestinians to find an alternative. Additionally, one of the congress committees presented an anti-terror resolution against what it called "Palestinian terrorism"!

False calls of Western and American Democracy

Mr. Akef stressed that the above mentioned reaction is because they are facing a strong entity. The democratic choice of the Palestinians let the callers for freedom and democracy in the West to breach what they teach after realizing that their efforts to set Islam aside of politics during the last decades went in vain. It became clear that Western democracy, freedom and human rights are only tools to achieve the unfair and unjust Western and American goals. . . Muslim brotherhood members, by the grace of God, were at the forefront of those who looked suspiciously at the American calls for democracy.

He added that the only way our people can obtain their freedom is through their sacrifices, removing tyranny by themselves and realizing that the criminals who killed Muslims, plundered their fortunes and supported tyrants will not give them any thing except for evil goals.

He addressed the Muslim rulers, calling upon them to fear God who will call them into account. He asked them to end tyranny, realize the reality of the American and Western project, and to start supporting the genuine and resistant Islamic project. He added that the people will not forgive them if they do not support the Palestinian people. He called upon rich Arabs and Muslim to live up to Muslims, as this is an Islamic principle. He showed that Palestinians are asking for only some of their rights, spending their blood while protecting the dignity of the Ummah and standing against the Zionist occupier.

He showed to the solution to deter the new Western colonization project, is by trusting in God, sticking to Islam, making use of its powers and join their forces and their governments".

AZIIM: Mari kita merenung sejenak beberapa seruan yg dilontar oleh Syeikh Akef tentang Palestin....
1. Israel dibackup oleh Barat dan US demi untuk memastikan tidak menguatnya Islam di rantau Arab.
2. Sekalipun melalui sistem demokrasi HAMAS menang dari pemilihan rakyat tapi US tetap memanggil mereka sebagai teroris. Jadi apakah ada harapan dari sdr kita di Palestine untuk mendapat bantuan dari mereka?? tolonglah kita sedar dan jangan bermimpi, sdr kita tidak akan ada yang membantu kecuali dari kita semua terutama dari saudagar minyak di Arab dan sdr muslim yang punya rezqi lebih.
3. Sdr kita di Palestine telah menginfaqkan darah dan segalanya untuk maruah Islam dan Ummah ini, maka apakah kita hanya sekadar mendengar dan diam sahaja??
4. Kekuatan kita hanyalah apabila kita dekat dengan Allah, iltizam dengan Islam dan manfaatkan apa yang ada pada kita sekarang.
5. Alangkah baiknya jika sebelum kita tidur kita tatapi foto-foto sdr-sdr kita dari bayi, anak kecil, anak baru gedik, menjelang dewasa, perempuan dan lelaki separuh umur dan tua hampir setiap hari dibunuh tanpa sebab...!! kita ajak anak dan isteri kita merenung bersama betapa besarnya pengorbanan mereka untuk Islam...dan apa yang telah kita lakukan untuk Islam dan Ummah ini???

Rusia serah kereta perisai tanpa meriam kepada Palestin

BAITULMAQDIS 22 Mac – Rusia semalam bersetuju dengan syarat-syarat Israel berhubung penyerahan kereta berperisai kepada pasukan keselamatan Palestin di bawah pentadbiran Presiden Mahmoud Abbas.

Israel pada November lalu bersetuju membenarkan kerajaan Palestin menerima 50 kereta perisai ringan Rusia tetapi tuntutan Palestin supaya kenderaan berkenaan dilengkapi meriam di atasnya telah mencetuskan pertikaian.

AZIIM; Nak buat apa dengan kereta perisai tanpa meriam?..Inilah bukti betapa kuatnya pengaruh Israel di kalangan negara Eropah dan ini juga bujti betapa kejamnya US terhadap penduduk Palestine...Janganlah diharap sangat pada mereka..!!!
